Owls Win 7 Events in Oregon-California Challenge

ASHLAND, Ore. - Gearing up for the Cascade Conference championship in May, the Oregon Tech track and field team won seven events in the four-team meet held on the campus of Southern Oregon University. Oregon Tech and host Southern Oregon made up the team from Oregon, while Humboldt State and Chico State, both NCAA II schools, made up the California team.

Lashell Larman brought home two individual titles, winning the 100m (12.95) and 200m (26.56) events. Nikki Smith won the 100 hurdles in 15.12 seconds and Sara Schelb the javelin with a throw of 153-07. The Lady Owl 4x100 relay team also had a top finish winning the event in 50.75 seconds.

Kory Humberston was the 1500 event winner with a time of 4:06.14, while Bryant Sentman won the men's javelin with a throw of 190-0. Tech's Kyle Gomez finished second in the javelin (178-08), while Frank DeWolf and Michael McDonnell followed with throws of 160-08 and x160-07 for a 1-2-3-4 finish in the event for the Owls.
