KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech head volleyball coach, Jason Corwin, announced recently that Marlee Smith (Springfield, Ore.) and Megan Holland (Keizer, Ore.) has signed letters of intent to join the Owl volleyball squad beginning this fall.

Marlee Smith, a 5-11 outside hitter, was a three-time all-league recipient earning Midwestern first-team honors last season as an outside hitter, and an HM selection as a middle blocker as a sophomore and junior.

“Marlee is a very versatile six rotation player that hits with range and power from both pins at first and second tempo,” said Corwin.  “She has an uncanny ability to make plays and is constantly improving her game.  We are really looking forward to Marlee joining our 2012 recruiting class.”

Marlee is the daughter of Marty and Marla Smith of Springfield, Ore. and is planning on majoring in pre-medical imaging at Oregon Tech this fall.

Holland, a two-time Central Valley all-conference player at McNary High School, led the Celtics to a CVC championship in 2010, along with a 6th place finish in the OSAA Championships.  Holland was a second-team all-conference setter in 2010; earning first-team CVC honors her senior season at MHS.

“Megan makes hard plays look easy and is constantly bettering the ball for her teammates,” said Corwin.  She has the ability to transfer verbal instructions to the court almost instantaneously.  We are really looking forward to Megan joining our team this coming fall.”

Megan is the daughter of Pamela and Gary Ouderkirk and Greg Holland, and plans to major in dental hygiene at Oregon Tech beginning this fall.
