Oregon Tech Swept by Menlo

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A two-run homerun in the seventh inning secured a victory in game 1, while Derek Martinez fanned 13 Owls in the nightcap to lift Menlo College to a pair of NAIA West wins over Oregon Tech, 7-5 and 12-3 tonight at Kiger Stadium.
Oregon Tech drops to 13-29 overall and 2-14 in NAIA West play. Menlo improved to 31-13-1 on the year and 18-4 in NAIA West action.
Oregon Tech’s Trent Smith recorded four hits tonight, including a double and triple, and is now just five hits shy of becoming the career-hits leader at OIT. Colin Stock finished with four hits, two of those doubles. Wade Elliot homered in game 1 and recorded three hits in the doubleheader, while Brad Walters doubled in each game and Ryan Hayden, Jared Nelson and Dylan Rogers also added doubles.
Oregon Tech will close out their home schedule in a doubleheader tomorrow morning versus Menlo beginning at 11 a.m.
