4th Annual OR-CAL Border Clash Ends in Draw

(Klamath Falls, OR.) -- In the 4th annual Oregon-California Border Clash being held at John F. Moehl Stadium on the campus of Oregon Tech, the Oregon men won for the first time ever. Southern Oregon’s Max Perry won the final event of the day, the men’s discus, with a throw of 46.28m or 151-10 to lift the Oregon men past California 147 -143. In the women, California women won the Border Clash 137 -125.

The Border Battle featured the California teams of Chico State and Humboldt State vs the Oregon teams of Southern Oregon University and Oregon Tech.

The Oregon Tech women were led by Amanda McMillan who won the 800 meter run in a time of 2:25:59 and Alyssa McKlellan who finished 2nd in the Javelin with Tech’s Tracy Filley finishing 3rd.

Oregon Tech’s Scott Minor finished 1st in the 1500 with teammate Korey Humberston right behind in 2nd to lead the Men’s side. Tech’s Jed Tolbert finished 2nd with teammate Joey Gipner grabbing 3rd in the 800.

Tech’s Trae Collins took 2nd place in the men’s shot put with a throw of 13.55 meters.
