Klamath Falls, Ore. –The Oregon Tech softball team went 3-1 on the road over the last four Cascade Conference games, but slipped two spots to No. 19 in the sixth edition of the 2011 NAIA Division II Softball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll announced Tuesday.
Cascade Conference opponents Concordia University and Corban University each received votes in this week’s poll.
Oregon Tech has now been ranked in the Top 25 in the last five straight rankings, as they closed out a 45-game schedule with a 33-12 overall mark.
The Owls clinched the outright Cascade Collegiate Conference regular season title after last Friday’s sweep at Corban University, earning the No. 1 seed and the right to host this year's CCC championship Tournament.
The CCC Tournament, played on May 6th and 7th at the Softball Complex on the campus of Oregon Institute of Technology, will feature the top three finishers in the CCC's regular season standings. The tournament champion will then earn the conference's automatic bid to the NAIA Championships, which are slated for May 19-25 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
