Owls open NAIA West Tournament as three-seed

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.  – For the second time in as many years the Oregon Tech men’s baseball team clinched the South Division Title of the NAIA West, along with an automatic bid to the NAIA West Regional Tournament to be played at Nat Bailey Stadium in Vancouver, B.C. May 6th – 8th

Oregon Tech finished up regular season play with a 25-28 record, while ending conference action with a 17-14 mark.

 

The Owls, this year’s tournament’s three-seed, will play two-seeded The College of Idaho to begin NAIA West Region Tournament play on Thursday, May 6th.  College of Idaho has had their way with Oregon Tech this season, winning all five contests played. Game 1 between the Owls and Yotes is set to begin at noon, with host University of British Columbia taking on Simpson University in game 2 beginning at 3:30 p.m.

 

Below is the 2010 NAIA West Region Tournament pairings and schedule:

 

#1 seed – British Columbia (will host tournament)

#2 seed – College of Idaho

#3 seed – Oregon Tech

#4 seed – Simpson

 

Here is the tournament schedule:

 

Day 1 (Thursday, May 6, 2010)

Game 1:         Seed #2 (College of Idaho) vs. Seed #3 (Oregon Tech) / Noon

Game 2:         Seed #1 (British Columbia) vs. Seed #4 (Simpson) / 3:30 p.m.

 

Day 2 (Friday, May 7, 2010)

Game 3:         Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2 (loser eliminated) / 8:30 a.m.

Game 4:         Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2 / Noon

Game 5:         Winner Game 3 vs. Loser Game 4 (loser eliminated) / 3:30 p.m.

 

Day 3 (Saturday, May 8, 2010)

Game 6:         Winner Game 4 vs. Winner Game 5 / Noon

Game 7:         Winner Game 6 vs. Loser Game 6 (if necessary) / 3:30 p.m.

 

 

Sunday will be used as a makeup day, if necessary.
