GRESHAM, Ore. - Storm clouds and rain in the early going could not put a damper on the first day of competition at the Cascade Collegiate Conference track & field championships held at Earl Klapstein Stadium on the campus of Mt. Hood Community College.

Korey Humberston finished fifth in the 10,000 meter race and disc thrower Brianne Kenyon picked up two points to get both the men's and women's team on the board during the first day of the 2009 CCC Track and Field Championship. Humberston crossed the finish line in 31.57:22, while Kenyon tossed the discus 126-06, which was good for a seventh place finish.
