Oregon Tech spring 2010 NAIA Scholar-Athletes announced

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. ---Oregon Tech landed four spring sport student-athletes on the 2010 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes list, announced this week by the NAIA national office.
Lorena Carter (Central Point, Ore.), Statia Smith (Medford, Ore.) and Rachel Novak (Keno, Ore.) helped lead the Oregon Tech women’s track and field team to a fourth place finish at the Cascade Collegiate Conference championships, while also competing at the NAIA national track and field meet in the 4x800 relay.
Bree Larson (Yamhill, Ore.) was the lone Tech athlete off the diamond to earn the academic award. Larson batted .276 with 16 RBI, including five doubles to go with a triple and homerun.
Nominated by each institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, have been enrolled at institution for at least one academic year and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.
