Owl Soccer Signs Duo

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Oregon Tech head women’s soccer coach Bryan Mueller announced today that both Malinda Marr (Sisters, Ore.) and Hayley Smith (Elko, Nev.) have signed letters of intent to join the Lady Owl soccer program in 2010.
Marr spent four seasons in the varsity program at Sisters High School, earning all-conference accolades each season. Marr was a two-time first team all-league award recipient, while also being named Sky-Em Player of the Year after scoring 11 goals for the Outlaws this year. Marr currently holds the SHS career assist record.
“Malinda brings good experience having played four years at the varsity level,” said coach Mueller “Malinda is a versatile holding Mid-Fielder and a very hard working player. We are very excited that she has chosen Oregon Institute of Technology and would expect her to be competing for playing time immediately.”
Malinda Marr is the daughter of Rod and Marsha Marr and will major in Engineering at Oregon Tech in the fall.

Smith, a three-time all-conference midfielder at Elko High School earned first team all-conference recognition in both 2008 and 2009. Smith scored 30 goals and tallied 18 assists in her career, while earning the all-conference Offensive Player of the Year award for the Indians.
Hayley is a very good midfield player who has good on the ball skill” said Mueller. “She is extremely quick and has an eye for the goal. She will bring a lot of flare to the team and will battle for a starting spot.”
Hayley Smith is the daughter of Mike and Sheila Smales and will major in Psychology at Oregon Tech this fall.
