07.02.2011

STARKVILLE, Miss. - After Oregon Tech Head Coach Greg Stewart and assistant coaches Bill Fagan and Ryson Mauricio were honored with the 2011 National Fastpitch Coaches Association National Coaching Staff Award, the Oregon Tech softball team placed four members on the 2011 NFCA All-Region Team, announced recently by the organization.

The lone Owl named to the All- Region First-Team was freshman shortstop Shauna Collins (Roseburg, Ore.), while Second-Team All-Region honors went to junior second baseman Ashleigh Larson (Central Point, Ore.), senior outfielder Brittany Cherry (Pasco, Wash.) and senior pitcher Jackie Imhof (Portland, Ore.).

All four previously earned first team all-conference honors after leading Oregon Tech to both regular-season and conference tournament titles.  Larson was also a CCC Gold Glove recipient, while Imhof was named 2011 CCC Pitcher of the Year, and after defeating top-ranked Cal Baptist 1-0 in the NAIA national championship game was named the NAIA Tournament MVP.
