Owl Baseball Signs Standout

KLAMATH FALLS (July 5, 2006) --- Oregon Tech Head Baseball Coach Pete Whisler has announced the signing of Knappa High School star Derek Jacobson.  The senior, from Astoria was named the Northwest League Player of the Year for the second consecutive year and also a two time First Team All-State 2A pitcher as well.  On the mound Derek compiled a 9-3 record amassing 110 strikeouts in 67 innings with a 1.39 ERA.  At the plate he swung for 7 homeruns and 9 doubles while hitting .488 for the Loggers this season.
