Phil Sacks Signs Letter of Intent with Oregon Tech

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Oregon Tech head baseball coach Matt Miles announced today that Phil Sacks, an explosive 5-10 outfielder from Reno, NV has signed a letter of intent to join the Owl roster in 2010.

Sacks, a graduate of Robert McQueen High School, was a 1st team all-conference, 1st team all-region, and a 1st team all-state selection in 2009. He hit .466 with a .864 slugging percentage with 47 RBI, 10 homeruns and 20 stolen bases. A Nevada Showcase baseball player in 2008, Sacks received his high school's distinguished Jim Kuraisa MVP baseball award in 2009. In 2008, Sacks and his teammates were 4A state academic baseball champions. A two sport athlete at McQueen, Sacks was also an integral member of the high school's 2008 4A state championship football team.

Sacks is the youngest son of Teresa and Barry Sacks of Reno, Nevada. Barry Sacks is a collegiate football coach at the University of Nevada. Phil was born in Portland, OR.
