Maria Ramirez Signs Letter of Intent
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- - Oregon Tech Head Women’s Basketball Coach Scott Meredith announced today that Maria Ramirez a 5-10, guard from Northwest Nazarene University and formally of La Pine High School has signed a Letter-of-Intent to transfer to Oregon Tech in the fall.

Ramirez was named 4A Player of the Year in 2009 leading her La Pine High School team to the 4A State Championship where she was named the OSAA State Tournament MVP. She is also a three-time first-team All-Sky Em League basketball selection and holds the Oregon 4A career assists record.

“We are thrilled Maria is returning home to play for the Lady Owls,” said Coach Meredith. “She is experienced and has competed at a high level. She is extremely athletic and is an outstanding passer and a very physical defender. Our fans will enjoy watching Maria for the next three years.”

Maria is the daughter of Sam and Becky Ramirez of La Pine, Oregon and plans to major in Health Sciences at Oregon Tech this fall.

Former Hustlin’ Owl All-American Justin Parnell also transferred to Oregon Tech from Northwest Nazarene University back in 2008.
