Hustlin’ Owls Sign Australian for 2011-12 Season
Australian forward Josh Johnson will join the Hustlin' Owls this fall.
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Oregon Tech men’s basketball team added Josh Johnson to its signing class for the 2011-12 season, announced recently by head coach Dan Miles.
Johnson, a 6-7 forward from Perth, Australia, was a four-time All-Australian selection and also a member of the Australian U/19s World Championships squad.
In 2010 Johnson averaged 12.2 points, and a tournament high 10.2 rebounds, to help his team to a 5th place finish at the Australian State National Championships.
In 2008 and 2009 Johnson led Willetton Senior High School to back-to-back undefeated seasons and State Championships after averaging 26 points and 11 rebounds, while also gaining the MVP of the championship game. Johnson then went on to lead WSHS to a silver medal and a No. 2 Australian national ranking after averaging 18 points, 12 rebounds and two assists to earn 'Sportsman of the Year' and also 'Western Australia Player of the Year' honors.
Josh is the son of Craig and Carolyn Johnson and plans on majoring in marketing at Oregon Tech this fall.
