Mazama standout to run for Tech

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Head interim cross country coach, Grier Gatlin, announced that Mazama High School graduate, Kirby Garlitz, has signed a letter-of-intent and will join the cross country team this fall.
Garlitz ran four years for the Vikings and was named the team’s Outstanding Cross Country Runner all four seasons. Garlitz was a state qualifier on three occasions, earning three all-conference awards, including first-team Southern Sky honors and second-team All-State accolades in 2009. Garlitz was also part of the MHS track and field team for four seasons, earning the Rookie of the Year award as a freshman and also the Outstanding Track Athlete award.
Kirby is the son of Kirby Sr. and Katie Garlitz and plans to major in accounting and management at Oregon Institute of Technology this fall.
