KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech head men’s basketball coach, Dan Miles, announced early this week that Jason Gamblin of Herriman, Utah signed a letter-of-intent to join the Hustlin’ Owls for the 2011-12 season.  Gamblin will transfer to Oregon Tech after spending two seasons in the junior college ranks.

The 6-6 220lb forward averaged 17.8 points and 11.2 rebounds at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Wash. during the 2009-10 season, earning first team all NWAACC honors.  Gamblin recently finished his second season at national JC powerhouse, Salt Lake Community College, where he averaged 10.6 points and 5.5 rebounds for the Bruins.

“Jason is a very physical scorer and rebounder”, said Miles.  “He will be one of the premier recruits next season in the Cascade Conference and we are excited he chose Oregon Tech to continue his athletic career.”

Perennial powerhouse, Oregon Tech, finished 30-5 last season winning both the regular season and Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament. The Hustlin’ Owls won the NAIA Division II National Championship in both 2004 and 2008, including “Sweet 16” appearances at the NAIA national tournament the past three seasons.
