Oregon Tech announces fall sports schedule

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore – The Oregon Tech athletic department has announced their upcoming 2010 fall sports schedule for volleyball, cross country and men’s and women’s soccer teams.
The Owls begin their 30-match volleyball slate with the first 10 matches on the road. Oregon Tech opens at the Southern Oregon Invitational in Ashland with four matches, which includes a contest with the reigning NAIA National Champion Fresno Pacific University. The Owls also face Embry Riddle, Fla., ranked 28
th in the final NAIA Coaches Poll last season, along with Simpson University and Montana Western. The Owls continue the 2010 campaign in California against Cal Pac members William Jessup University, Bethany University, Menlo College and Holy Names University, before opening its home schedule with a non-league affair with Simpson University on Wednesday, Sept. 1
st. Tech opens Cascade Conference play at home against College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon University on Friday, September 10
th and Saturday, September 11
th.
The Tech men’s soccer team will look to improve on an 8-8-2 mark when they open with two games against Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont. on August 27
th and 28
th. The Owls then go up against George Fox University on September 9
th before opening at home on Saturday, September 11
th versus Menlo College in non-league play. The Tech men are on the road for their first two Cascade Collegiate Conference games before hosting College of Idaho and Warner Pacific in CCC action on Friday, September 24
th and Saturday, September 25
th. All home games will be played at the Steen Sports Complex.
The Oregon Tech women’s soccer team is coming off a school-record 13 wins (13-6 record), including a 6-3 mark in Cascade Collegiate Conference play in 2009. The Owl women also begin the 2010 campaign in Montana with games scheduled against Carroll College, University of Great Falls and Rocky Mountain College. The Owls then face Simpson University in Redding, Calif. before hosting their first two contests of the season on Friday, September 10
th versus Simpson University and Saturday, September 11
th against Mills College. Tech will open Cascade Collegiate Conference play at home when the Owls host Corban University and Northwest Christian University on October 1
st and 2
nd. All home games will be played at the Steen Sports Complex.
The Oregon Tech cross country team is set to host the 2010 Cascade Collegiate Conference championships for both the men and women in Klamath Falls on Saturday, November 6
th, with the event to take place at the Steen Sports Complex. Tech will get their season off to a running start when the Owls host the Cascade Collegiate Conference Review meet on Saturday, September 18
th, also at the Steen Sports Complex. The season will conclude in Vancouver, Wash., the site of the 2010 NAIA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 20
th.
