KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- - Oregon Tech Head Women’s Basketball Coach Scott Meredith announced today the signing of Taylor Ronnander and Rebekah Matteri to Letters of Intent to play at Oregon Tech in the fall.
Taylor Ronnander is a 5-7 Guard from Hosanna Christian School in Klamath Falls, Oregon. She played for Head Coach Tony Bush and was the Mountain Valley Player of the Year in 2010. She was also a 1st Team All-League selection and 2nd Team All-State selection this past year leading Hosanna to State Runner-Up and a Mountain Valley League Championship with a record of 24-5.
“We are very happy to have Taylor join us, she is one of the finest players to ever come out of Hosanna” said coach Meredith, “ She is a great fit for us athletically and academically. She had a tremendous season while playing through an injury her senior year. Taylor has a well-rounded game at both ends of the floor.”
Ronnander will be a Communications Major at Oregon Tech. She is the daughter of Eric and Angela Ronnander of Midland, Oregon.
Rebekah Matteri is a 5-8 Guard from Arcata High School in Arcata, California. She was a 4-year Varsity Letter Winner, a 3-time HDNL Big 5 All-League Selection, a 2-time Team MVP, and was selected to the 2010-2011 All-League Defensive Team.
“Rebekah is a tremendous two sport athlete and will join our basketball team full-time after her soccer season has concluded” said Coach Meredith. “Her abilities as a goalie transfer into being an outstanding defender on the court as she really enjoys a physical style of play at the guard position.”
Matteri will be a Geomatics Major at Oregon Tech. She is the daughter of Mike Matteri and Rana Avery of Arcata, California.
The Lady Owls open up the 2011-2012 season at Walla Walla University on November 4th with the home opener scheduled for November 19th at 5:30 pm against William Jessup University.
