Volleyball Falls to Mt. Vernon Nazarene

San Diego, CA (Aug. 28, 2009) Oregon Tech (0-4) dropped a four set match (17-25, 27-25, 17-25, 21-25) to Mt. Vernon Nazarene (4-2) this morning in the first match of the 2009 Seaside Invitational.

Megan Christensen (Jr. Klamath Falls, Ore) led the Owls with 15 Kills and Miranda Weitz (Jr. Pullman, Wash.) adding 13 kills in the loss. Jackie Polette (So. Helena, Mont.) had 19 set assists to lead Oregon Tech with Sarah Svedin (So. Palmer, AK) also chipping in 18 set assists. Four Oregon Tech players were in double digits in defensive digs led by Joey Larsen (Jr. Lewiston, Idaho) with 16, Christine Bansen (Fr. Monmouth, Ore) 14, Sarah Svedin 11, and Megan Christensen 10.

Oregon Tech will next play the host team No. 8 Point Loma Nazarene (0-0) today 4:00pm then wrap up the tournament with two matches on Saturday before returning home to open up Cascade Conference play Friday, September 4, against Concordia University at 7:00 pm at Danny Miles Court.
