Oregon Tech bounces back with win over Bethany, sweeps Menlo

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. – Coming off a three set loss to Bethany University less than 24 hours ago, the Oregon Tech volleyball team bounced back and returned the favor with a four set win over the host Bruins (26-24, 20-25, 25-16, 27-25). The Owls improve to 5-3 with the victory in game 1 of today’s doubleheader.
Mikayla Morgan and Jennifer Saltenberger controlled the net on offense and defense combining for 8.5 blocks and 23 kills in the win. Saltenberger finished with a team-high 13 kills, followed by Morgan with 10. Megan Christensen finished with eight, while Kristen Walters added seven. Setters Sarah Svedin and Kayleigh Whelchel combined for 24 assists with both Hannah Brewster and Marie Bauman picking up five digs apiece.

Menlo College, as the Owls improve to 6-3 on the season with a 25-19, 25-19, 25-20 sweep over the Oaks today in Atherton.
Bridgett Harrison and Hannah Brewster combined for half total digs, as Harrison tallied a match-high 20 and Brewster 17. Setters Sarah Svedin finished with 18 assists and Kayleigh Whelchel 11. Svedin and Whelchel also combined for 20 digs, 11 and nine respectively. Megan Christensen led the offense with a team-high eight kills, followed by Kristen Walters and Jennifer Saltenberger with six apiece. Christine Bansen came away with four kills, three digs and a block in the victory.
Oregon Tech will conclude a six-match road swing through the Cal Pac Conference with a match beginning at noon tomorrow at Holy Names University in Oakland.
