Holy Names upends Oregon Tech

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oregon Tech volleyball team won the opening set of today’s match with Holy Names University but were not able to hang on, as the host Hawks took the next three and handed the Owls a 24-26, 25-23, 25-21, 25-22 defeat. Holy Names ended the night with a .420 attack percentage compared to .247 for the Owls.
Oregon Tech is 6-4 on the season and will open the 2010 home campaign with a match against Simpson University on Wednesday, September 1st at Danny Miles Court. Match time is set to begin at 6 PM.
Megan Christensen dominated play ending the evening with a match-high 20 kills in 27 attempts. Kristen Walters added 10 kills, while Mikayla Morgan and Mindy Rencher combined for 17. Sarah Svedin finished with 32 assists with Kayleigh Whelchel adding 13. Hannah Brewster led the Owls with 20 digs.
