An opening set smash by junior Mikayla Morgan set the tone, as Tech eventually pushed to a 17-7 lead, moving to a 25-13 win in set one.
Tech trailed early, but would pull away to an 11-5 lead on back-to-back Miranda Weitz kills. Tech doubled the lead to 16-8 on a Christine Bansen point, and did not look back, winning set two 25-14.
Tech trailed 5-1 in set three, but a six point run gave the lead back to the Owls, 8-6. Tech pushed the lead to 12-7, but three in a row for the visitors cut the Red Hawk deficit to 12-10. A Porsha Ellison kill, after a Tech timeout, got the Owls rolling once again, leading to a six point run that gave Tech a 20-12 advantage. Five straight points would then give the Owls the third set and the match.
The Owls received plenty of production from a variety of players - Along with 11 kills from Christensen - Christine Bansen and Mikayla Morgan registered 8 kills apiece against the Red Hawks. Jennifer Saltenberger, Miranda Weitz and Porsha Ellison would combine for another 13 kills for Tech. Jackie Polette chalked up four service aces, with Christensen adding three.
