REDDING, Calif. - Ninety minutes was not enough time to decide today's soccer match between Oregon Tech and Simpson University. In the extra period, Oregon Tech's Crystal Foster scored her fifth goal of the season lifting Oregon Tech to a 6-0 record. Simpson falls to 2-2 on the season.
Freshman Goalie Katie Orr (Central Point, OR) stepped in for last week's CCC Defender of the Week Megan Ross, who did not make the trip to Redding. Orr was superb between the pipes, playing all 105 minutes with 8 saves to help preserve Tech's 4th shutout in 6 games.
For the game the Red Hawks outshot the Hustlin' Owls 18 - 9 and held a slim edge in shots on goal 8-6 but Tech led in the most important category, goals, 1-0.
Oregon Tech will travel to San Rafael, California and take on Dominican University on Thursday afternoon.
