(FOREST GROVE, Ore).- The Pacific women's soccer team scored 2 first half goals and coasted to a 2-0 victory over Oregon Tech on Sunday at Lincoln Park Stadium. Oregon Tech slips to 2-2 on the season with the Boxers improving to 2-0-2 with the win. The shutout was Pacific’s third consecutive shutout in four matches so far this season.
Pacific didn’t waist anytime getting on the scoreboard as Kamryn Plechot took a through ball off a corner kick and scored just 5 minutes and 20 seconds into the game.
The Boxers took advantage of another offensive opportunity in the 28th minute, as McKenna Davidson crossed to an open Dani McMurray, who fired from the middle to the left side of the net from six yards out.
The Boxers outshot the Hustlin' Owls 14-11 and received a solid defensive performance from Keeper Brittany Hartmann who collected her first win of the season, recording eight saves in 90 minutes.
Davidson led the Boxers with four shots, while McMurray collected three shots.
Hayley Smith led the Owls offensive attack with 4 shots, 3 on frame but could not find the net. Rebekah Matteri tallied six saves for the Hustlin' Owls in the loss.
Oregon Tech will return home for the first time this season on Monday, September 17th against Trinity Lutheran at 7:00 pm on Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park.
