Oregon Tech takes down Simpson

Redding, Calif. – Kristen Walters and Megan Christensen tallied double digit kills and the Oregon Tech volleyball team defeated Simpson University for the third time this season 25-15, 17-25, 25-13, 25-20 tonight in a non-conference match played at Simpson University.

 

Oregon Tech improves to 9-7 on the season, and will resume Cascade Conference play at The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash. on Friday and at Northwest University in Kirkland, Wash. on Saturday.

 

Walters led Tech with 14 kills to go with five digs and an ace, while Christensen added 12 kills, eight digs and four aces.  Both contributed a solo block and assisted on three blocks apiece.  Christine Bansen and Jennifer Saltenberger combined for 14 kills, while Sarah Svedin totaled 19 assists and Kayleigh Whelchel 11 in the victory for the Owls.  Hannah Brewster secured the Owl defense with 24 digs, with Bridget Harrison adding seven.
