Owls Fall to Concordia, 5-0

Concordia’s Septi Dcnciu
recorded a hat trick to lead Concordia University to a 5-0 victory against Oregon Tech Friday night at Tuominen Yard.
The Cavaliers improved to 5-2-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference with the win. Oregon Tech fell to 2-5-0 overall and 1-2-0 in league play.
As a team, Concordia outshot Oregon Tech 30-to-3, including a 16-to-0 advantage in the first half of play where the Cavs scored four of its five goals.
Danciu needed just eight minutes to record the first goal of the match as he found himself open from 16 yards and unloaded a powerful low shot that went in just past the reach of Oregon Tech goalkeeper Loren Jessen.
Just over six minutes later, Danciu put home his second goal of the match with a
low shot in on the left side.
In the 21st minute
Michael Chamberalin was able to collect a ricochet and deliver a successful punch in from six yards.
Danciu finished his three-goal performance in the 23rd minute by converting a penalty kick after CU was awarded a penalty kick due to a handball inside the box by OIT. With his 10th career multi-goal game, Danciu, the returning CCC Player of the year, now has 44 career goals for the Cavaliers.
The Cavs closed out the game's scoring in the 86th minute with a Timur Zhividze goal assisted by Eli Gaynor.
Oregon Tech produced its best scoring chance in the 67th minute on a long-ranged shot by Nathan Wade which CU goalkeeper
volleyed over the crossbar. Gross finished the night with two saves to collect his fourth shutout of the season.
Jessen, meanwhile, stopped seven shots in the outing.
