PORTLAND, Ore.- Oregon Tech outside hitters Joey Parnell and Mindy Nalder tallied 8 kills each, as the Owls swept a Cascade Conference volleyball match from Warner Pacific 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-19) tonight at C.C Perry Gym.

Tech jumped out to a 5-0 lead to open the match and pulled away to a 20-11 lead on back-to-back Parnell aces, two of her five on the night, before eventually moving on for a 25-19 win in the opening set.

Set 2 was more of the same as the Owls led 12-1 before Warner Pacific closed to within seven points, 18-11.  The teams traded points for the remainder before back-to-back Parnell and Kai Evans-Bautista kills gave OIT a 25-15 victory in the set.

Tech once again moved out to an early lead, 12-4, but the Knights wouldn't go away easy, pulling to within four points, 19-15.  Tech’s Aurora Penoyar and Joelle Swanson kills, however, gave the Owls back the moment and a 21-15 advantage.

Three-straight Warner Pacific points gave the home team a chance to take set 3, but a Sarah Svedin kill along with a Knight attack error gave the set and match to OIT.

The win gives Oregon Tech a 10-7 overall mark, while moving up in the conference standing at 4-6.

Along with Parnell and Nalder’s team-high 8 kills, Tessa Houck and Aurora Penoyar recorded 6 kills apiece, while Krystie Vea finished with a match-high 20 digs to go with 3 aces.

Oregon Tech looks to avenge an earlier CCC loss at home when the Owls play at Concordia University Saturday beginning at 7 p.m.
