KIRKLAND, Wash. - Oregon Tech senior forward Katie O'Brien knocked in two second half goals to help the women's soccer team secure a 3-0 win over Northwest University today in Kirkland. Oregon Tech improves to 9-3 on the season and evens their conference record at 2-2. Northwest drops to 1-8-2 on the year and 0-4-1 in CCC play.

It did not take long for the Owls to get on the board, scoring at the 3:16 mark of the game. From 5 yards out it was Kayla Willhelm that headed a ball in from a corner kick by Brooke Cole on the assist. Tech went to the intermission leading 1-0.

In the second stanza it was Crystal Foster who beat her defender and got a perfect ball to Katie O' Brien who rifled the ball past the NU keeper from 10 yards away to put the Owls up 2-0 at the 53:19 mark. Five minutes later it was O' Brien once again, notching her second goal of the afternoon, receiving a cross from Kayla Willhelm, and from 20 yards away slipped the ball into the back of the net to secure the 3-0 victory.

Tech keeper Megan Ross came up with two saves to garner her fifth shutout of the season. Tech led in shots on goal at 7-6 and held a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The Owls travel to Olympia on Saturday, October 10, where they will play at Evergreen State at 2 pm.
