Tech’s Smith Earns Player of the Week Honors

Portland, Ore. – Oregon Tech’s Hayley Smith has been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Soccer Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the Conference office today.
Smith, a 5-5 sophomore midfielder from Elko, Nev., earned Player of the Week honors after scoring a hat-trick as the Owls took their second game of the season from Northwest Christian University in women’s soccer action on Saturday. The Owls scored in the first minute of the game and went on to finish a 5-0 rout of the Beacons.
Smith is currently tied for conference and team-high honors with seven goals and third in the CCC in scoring with 14 points.
Oregon Tech will host a non-conference game versus Trinity Lutheran University on Wednesday, October, 12th at 7 p.m. and will resume conference play on Sunday, October 16th, in Ashland beginning at 1:00 p.m. versus rival Southern Oregon University.
