Lady Owls Fall In Overtime to Eastern

LA GRANDE, Ore. – Eastern Oregon University women’s soccer team won in thrilling fashion Saturday, 1-0, in the first extra period.
Katie Yarnell found the back on the net in the 100th minute of play to give the Mountaineers (3-6-1) (3-3) the win. EOU finished with two shots on goal, while Oregon Tech failed to capitalize on its 12 shots on goal. The Mountaineers recorded five shots and OIT had 23. Tech’s Rebekah Nesbit had a game-high six shots, putting three on the net.
Eastern goalkeeper Chantal Schefers finished with a shutout after making 12 saves. Anna Tozier made one save for the Owls.
The Lady Owls return home next weekend hosting Evergreen State on Friday and Northwest University on Saturday. Both games will be played on Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park.
