Lady Owls Fly Past Eastern 2-0 on Senior Night

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) After a scoreless first half, the Oregon Tech Lady Owls scored twice in the second half to even its Cascade Conference record at 3-3 (5-6-1 overall) and also moved into a tie for 4th place and a playoff position with the win. Eastern Oregon slips to 1-4-1 in the CCC and 3-8-1 overall with the loss.

Oregon Tech broke through in the 55th minute when Rebekah Nisbet struck a shot from 20 yards out that hit the right goal post. A.J. Castle then took the rebound and chipped it in for the 1-0 lead.

Meghan Drost scored her league leading 8th goal of the year in the 67th minute taking a perfect cross from Brandi King that sent the ball right in front of the EOU goal. Drost got a quick touch on the ball to score at point blank range.

For the game Oregon Tech held a huge 19-8 advantage in shots and a 8-5 edge in shots on goal. The Lady Owls also had a big 10-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Tech Keeper Rebekah Matteri was credited with the shutout, grabbing 5 saves with EOU Keeper Chantal Schiefers picking up the loss having saved 6 shots.

Oregon Tech will next face College of Idaho on Monday, October 24th at 1:00pm at Trevor Derrah Field. Eastern Oregon will also next play Monday at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon.
