Oregon Tech Assaults Beacons in CCC Tussle

Crystal Foster had Two Goals as Tech Won 9-0

EUGENE, Ore. - Northwest Christian University managed just three shots, all on frame, as they fell to Oregon Institute of Technology on Friday afternoon, 9-0. The win pushed the Owls into the drivers seat for the fourth and final playoff spot in the upcoming Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament.

Oregon Tech scored early, getting three goals within a three-minute stretch between the 16th and 20th minutes. The Owls tacked on another goal with 16 seconds to play in the opening half, taking a 4-0 lead into the intermission.

The Owls didn't let off the gas in the second half, scoring goals in the 49th, 59th, 62nd, 72nd and 77th minutes.

Eight different players scored for Oregon Tech with two first-half goals going to Crystal Foster, her team-leading sixth and seventh goals of the season. Katie O'Brien and Kaila Dillon each had a goal and an assist and Brooke Cole added two assists for the Owls. Oregon Tech is now 12-5, 5-3 in CCC action.

Oregon Tech will now travel to Salem, Oregon, to take on Corban College at 2:00 pm in the final Cascade Conference match of the regular season. The top four teams in the CCC standing will move on to the playoffs. With only one game to play the Hooters sit all alone in fourth place.
