Owls Swept by No. 12 Ranked Raiders

Ashland, Oregon (Oct. 23, 2009) - The Oregon Tech Volleyball team got off to a slow start and never recovered, as the 12th-ranked Southern Oregon volleyball team made off with a 25-10, 25-14, 25-20 sweep over Oregon Tech tonight at McNeal Pavilion in Ashland.
Oregon Tech dropped its sixth straight match and fell to 4-18 overall and 3-11 in conference play. Southern Oregon improved to 19-2 overall and 13-1 in Cascade Conference play and remains atop the CCC standings in a tie with College of Idaho.
Offensively the Raiders were clicking, as SOU hit at a .343 clip, while Tech was held to a .063 attack percentage.
Megan Christensen led Oregon Tech with 11 kills, while adding six digs in the losing cause. Porsha Ellison and Mikayla Morgan added three kills each. Morgan finished the evening with a team-high nine digs, followed by Joey Larsen with eight digs.
The Owls remain idle until hosting their last regular season home matches of the season next Friday and Saturday versus Northwest Christian University and Corban College.
