Tech Competes at Oregon State Beaver Classic

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Statia Smith led Oregon Tech to an 8th place overall finish on Saturday, as the Oregon Tech women’s cross country team traveled to compete in the 6K Oregon State Beaver Classic held at Avery Park in Corvallis.
Smith, competing against over 105 participants from collegiate teams and running clubs from around the northwest, finished 47th overall in a time of 23:56.
Amanda McMillan was the second Owl to cross the finish line in a time of 24:20. Lauren Renie followed in 24:24, while Lori Carter and Katie Waugh gained points for Tech with times of 24:35 and 24:44 respectively.
The Beaver Classic was the final event for Oregon Tech before they host the Cascade Collegiate Conference championship on Saturday, November 6th at Steen Sports Park.
