Owls Sweep William Jessup

ROCKLIN, Calif. – The Oregon Tech women knocked off William Jessup University 82-52 and the Oregon Tech men finished the sweep with an 85-82 overtime win Friday night playing in Day 1 of the Bill Holtz Classic at the Warrior Activity Center on the Campus of William Jessup University.
The Oregon Tech women improve to 3-1 on the season with the win with William Jessup falling to 0-4 with the loss.
Danny Miles picked win number 909 in his 40th year at the helm of OIT, as the Hustlin’ Owls improved to 3-0 on the season. The Warrior men fall to 0-3 on the season with the loss.
The Lady Owls had four players in double figures in scoring and held the home team to under 30% shooting from the floor to win by 30 points.

Aundrea Albright led OIT with 18 points making 9 of 10 from the floor. Colleen Hunt added 15 points and Morgan Hofman had 11 with each making 3-4 from long range. Brittany Cherry was the fourth Lady Owl in double digits putting in 13 points on the night.
Joseph Foster carried the Hustlin’ Owls with 32 points 20 after halftime. With OIT down by 12 points with less than 4 minutes to play Foster hit back to back three’s to draw Oregon Tech to with 6 with under 3 minutes to play and eventually send the game to overtime tied at 77.
Foster then added 4 points in overtime with David Clark chipping in three points and Bryant Sentman adding a free-throw as Oregon Tech outscored William Jessup 8-4 in the extra period to win 85-81.
The Lady Owls will take on Fresno Pacific (2-0) at 2:00 pm on Saturday with the Oregon Tech men taking on California Baptist (2-1) at 4:00 pm both games can be heard on 92.5 KLAD-FM live from Rocklin, California with Mike Garrard and Bobby Thompson calling the play by play.
