ROCKLIN, Calif. – Brittany Cherry’s double-double was not enough to carry Oregon Tech past NAIA Division I Fresno Pacific University Saturday afternoon playing in the Bill Holtz Classic on the campus of William Jessup University. The Lady Owls slip to 3-2 on the season with the loss. Fresno Pacific improves to 3-0 with the win.

The Sunbirds started hot taking a 29-17 lead to the locker room at the half. Tech outscored Fresno Pacific in the second half 28-25 but couldn’t make up the big deficit losing 54-45.

Cherry had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead Oregon Tech, while Kassi Conditt and Morgan Hofman added seven points apiece in the loss.

Tech out-rebounded the Sunbirds 48-35, but trailed in almost every other category.

Oregon Tech was 0-8 from 3-point range for the game, while Fresno Pacific was only 4-of-19.

Oregon Tech will now travel to Idaho next weekend playing California Baptist and Biola University, both NAIA Division I schools, at the Lewis-Clark State Classic in Lewiston, Idaho.
