Oregon Tech Runs Away From Simpson

REDDING, Calif. – Oregon Tech took a 57-31 lead into intermission on the way to an 89-54 rout over Simpson University tonight in non-conference men’s basketball action in Redding.

Fourth-ranked Oregon Tech moves to 4-1 overall heading into the Midland Empire Insurance Classic this weekend in Klamath Falls.  The Owls entertain William Jessup on Friday and Holy Names Saturday beginning at 7:30 both nights.

Bobby Hunter scored 14 of his game-high 21 points in the first half, while adding eight steals, five rebounds and five assists in the win for the Owls. Kyle Gomez netted 16 points and handed out four assists.  Bryant Sentman recorded 14 points and David Clarke 11 points and seven assists.

Oregon Tech shot 52% for the game on 29-for-56 from the floor, held a slight edge in rebounds, 24-23, while forcing 33 Simpson turnovers.
