Simpson Steals Win From Oregon Tech

REDDING, Calif. – Simpson University forced 31 turnovers, overcame a 13 point second half deficit and hit the game-winner with under three seconds to play to defeat Oregon Tech in women’s basketball action tonight in Redding.
Oregon Tech held a huge advantage in rebounding, 42-20, but the turnover margin proved costly. Simpson shot 26 free throws hitting on 22, while the Owls shot just 15 freebies on the night connecting on 11. The Owls held SU to just 29% from the floor (17-for-58), while shooting 22-for-46 (48%).
Oregon Tech was led in scoring by Aundrea Albright with 16 points to go with five rebounds. Colleen Hunt added nine points, while Kassi Conditt followed with eight points and seven rebounds and Karissa Dixon seven points in the loss.
After dropping their first game of the season, Oregon Tech falls to 4-1 overall.
The Owls will look to bounce back this Saturday when Tech will host William Jessup University as part of the Midland Empire Insurance Classic beginning at 5:30 PM.
