Oregon Tech Takes Down William Jessup in Opening Day of Midland Empire Insurance Classic

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Fourth-ranked Oregon Tech used an 11-1 run to break a 6-6 tie on the way to a 87-67 victory over visiting William Jessup University tonight in game 3 of the Midland Empire Insurance Classic.
It is the second win over WJU in as many tries this season, moving the Hustlin’ Owls to 5-1 overall and increasing their home win streak to 60 in a row. WJU drops to 2-4 on the season with the loss.
Oregon Tech will play Holy Names University, a winner over Southern Oregon earlier today 85-79, Saturday evening beginning at 7:30 PM. William Jessup drops to 2-4 overall and plays Southern Oregon at 3PM Saturday afternoon.
Oregon Tech was led in scoring by Kyle Gomez with 22 points to go with four assists, and four rebounds. Jason Gamblin followed with 19 points on 7-of-8 from the field and Bobby Hunter with 11.
William Jessup had 19 points from Anthony Anderson and 18 from Marcus Crawford in the loss.
