Oregon Tech Falls to Cal Baptist in Idaho

LEWISTON, Idaho - V.V. Vasciunaite scored 17 of her game-high 22 point in the first half to help California Baptist get off to a hot start and roll past Oregon Tech 90-65 in the opening game of the Twin Rivers Physical Classic at the Lewis-Clark State College Activity Center on Friday.
Vasciunaite hit 7-of-12 shots from the field in the opening half. Her shooting helped Cal Baptist take a 19-5 lead and open up as much as a 19-point advantage before the Lancers settled for a 46-31 halftime advantage. Cal Baptist led by as much as 29 points on two occasions before setting for the 25-point win.
Brittany Cherry had 16 points and nine rebounds for Oregon Tech, followed by 15 points from Morgan Hofman and 11 from Crissy Watts. Tech shot just 34.4% from the field and turned the ball over 25 times in the loss.
Renetha Burton added 19 points for the Lancers, while Cynna Burwell had 13 points and eight rebounds.
Oregon Tech (3-3) plays Biola University tomorrow in Lewiston, Idaho with the tip-off set for 2 PM.
