KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – The Oregon Tech women’s basketball team moved to 5-4 on the season with a 72-64 non-conference win over Cal Pac opponent Menlo College this afternoon at Danny Miles Court.

Brittany Cherry was an assists shy of a triple-double after a 22 point, 12 rebound and nine assist effort in the win.  Aundrea Albright finished with 13 points and eight boards, followed by Kassi Conditt with 12 points and seven rebounds.

Monica Ayers-Calvello and Bryanna Batts led the Oaks with 12 points each, while Erika Garcia finished with a double-double 11 points to go with 11 rebounds in the loss.

Menlo took an early 10-6 lead before Oregon Tech could tie it up at 15-15.  Back-to-back Owl baskets from Aundrea Albright and Brittany Cherry put Tech in the lead, while a Kassi Conditt free-throw gave the Owls their largest lead of the first period at 34-25.  The Owls went to the half up 35-27 and never would trail for the remainder.

The first five minutes of the second stanza was all Oregon Tech, as a Colleen Hunt trey gave the Owls plenty of insurance, and a 19 point lead with just over 14 minutes to play.

Menlo was able to chip away at their deficit, eventually cutting it to single digits, 71-62, but with just 28 seconds to play, the Owls just had to run out the clock - and did winning 72-64.

Oregon Tech will host Simpson University in non-conference action Tuesday, November 30th, with the game set to begin at 7:30 PM.
