Owls Hold Off Cal Maritime Late Game Rally, Win 76-60

A double-double 12 point and 12 rebound effort from junior Brittany

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Oregon Tech Lady Owls held Cal Maritime to 34.3% shooting for the game, and corralled 24 offensive boards to help secure a 76-60 non-conference victory this afternoon at Danny Miles Court.
Oregon Tech moves to 4-5 overall, and remain perfect at 3-0 at Danny Miles Court. Cal Maritime drops to 2-6 on the season.
After a 21-21 tie midway through the first half, an 11-0 Tech run capped by a Kelsey New trey gave the Owls a 32-21 lead. Oregon Tech would eventually take a 39-26 advantage into the intermission.
Oregon Tech pushed their lead to 16 points to start the second period, 41-28, on another New 3-pointer at the 16 minute mark.
Cal Maritime would fight their way back into the contest on back-to-back treys to cut the Owl lead to 48-40.
A Colleen Hunt jumper spurred the Owls to an 8-0 run, as Tech jumped up 56-40 with 8:10 remaining. Tech would then take their first 20 point lead of the game, 65-45, with 5:30 to play.
Cal Maritime then answered with a 15-2 run of their own, only trailing 67-60 with 1:35 to play. A Nicole Morgan 3-pointer and six-straight from the charity stripe ended any hopes of a Keelhauler comeback, as the Owl 9-0 run to finish the game secured the 76-60 win.
Kellie Morey (Redmond, Ore.) led three Owls in double figures with 19 points to go with six rebounds and three assists. Aundrea Albright (Central Point, Ore.) finished with 13 points and five rebounds, while Brittany Cherry (Pasco, Wash.) finished with a double-double 12 points and 12 rebounds in the win.
Alexsis Brown led the Keelhaulers with a game-high 23 points and team-high seven rebounds. Lauren Westbrook knocked down 10 points, while Alayna Woody grabbed six rebounds.
The Owls shot 41.0% from the floor on 27-for-66 shooting and outrebounded Cal Maritime 62-to-30.
