The Oregon Tech women’s basketball team never recovered from an early deficit, as host Concordia University handed the Owls a 76-60 loss tonight in Cascade Conference play. Oregon Tech falls to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in CCC play with the loss.
Oregon Tech fell behind 11-0 to start the contest, and with 13 minutes remaining in the first period only managed one basket, as CU led 21-2.
After waking up from a 19-point deficit, Oregon Tech clawed back into the game and was down just eight points, 40-32, at the half.
The Cavaliers quickly jumped to a double-digit lead to begin the second half, only to see the Owls cut their deficit to just six points, 42-36, with 17 minutes to play.
Oregon Tech could get no closer, however, as the Cavaliers would methodically pull away to take the 76-60 win.
Morgan Hofman led the Tech offense with 18 points to go with four rebounds and three assists, before fouling out late in the game. Aundrea Albright added 12 points, while Kassi Conditt finished with 11 points and five rebounds in the loss.
Oregon Tech will host both Cal Maritime and William Jessup University this Friday and Saturday as part of the Yellow Cab Classic Tournament. Both games begin at 5:30 PM.
