Lady Owls Ink Idaho All-State Point Guard

Carrie Thibault Signs Letter of Intent with Oregon Tech  |
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Oregon Tech head women’s basketball coach, Scott Meredith, announced today that Carrie Thibault from Jerome, Idaho has signed a Letter of Intent and will join the Lady Owls next fall.
Thibault, a 5-6 point guard, currently leads the Lady Tigers in scoring at 18.8 points per game, while shooting 87% from the free throw line. Coaches voted Thibault to the All-Idaho 4A State Basketball Team last season after she helped Jerome High School to their second consecutive third place finish in the Idaho 4A State Basketball Tournament.
“Carrie is one of the best point guards in the state who also has tremendous court sense and is a great leader on the floor”. Said Tigers head coach Brent Clark.
Carrie received Great Basin All-Conference honors since she was a freshman, in addition to being named Defensive Player of the Year and Most Inspirational Player. Thibault also competed this summer with the Idaho Hoop Dreams AAU Basketball Team.
Oregon Tech head women’s basketball coach Scott Meredith on the signing of Thibault, “We are extremely pleased with Carrie’s choice of Oregon Tech, especially considering the opportunities she had with other schools. Carrie is an outstanding student with a tremendous work ethic, a proven leader and fearless in her pursuit of excellence.” Meredith continues. “She is a dynamic addition to a very talented group of young guards already in this program. Carrie embodies the best in what we look for in recruiting student-athletes to our women’s basketball team at Oregon Tech and our fans are going to love watching her compete for the Lady Owls in the years to come”.
Thibault will also compete in track and field at Oregon Tech. She is the current Idaho 4A State Pole Vault Champion, marking 10’6” as a junior.
Carrie is the daughter of Greg and Alice Thibault of Jerome, Idaho and plans to major in Dental Hygiene at Oregon Tech.
