Oregon Tech Pulls Away From Pacific Union

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – A 20-3 run broke a 7-7 tie, as Oregon Tech methodically pulled away from Pacific Union College, winning 68-34 in non-conference women’s basketball action this afternoon at Danny Miles Court.

Tied with 13 minutes remaining in the opening half, Kiana Caban got Tech going with a 3-point basket and just moments later another Caban basket gave Tech their first double digit lead of the contest.  The Owls would eventually move out to a 37-16 advantage at the break.

Holding PUC to just six points over the first seven minutes of play in half two, the Owls would take a commanding 52-22 lead.  Tech went up by as many as 38 points before doubling up the Pioneers, 68-34, for the final margin of victory.

Oregon Tech was led in scoring by Kiana Caban with nine points, with Jazzy McDaniel, Kassi Conditt and Rebekah Matteri recording eight points each.  Conditt grabbed a game-high eight boards, while Colleen Hunt finished with seven points and a game-high four assists.

Oregon Tech will host NCAA III Willamette University tomorrow with the tip off set for 5:30 PM.
