Oregon Tech's Kyle Gomez Named CCC POW

(Portland, Ore.) - Oregon Tech's Kyle Gomez has been recognized as Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in basketball for the period ending Dec. 11, the CCC office announced Monday.

Gomez a 6-2 senior from Bly, Ore., averaged 30 points and five rebounds as the No. 5 Hustlin’ Owls swept a pair of games vs. Johnson & Wales (Colo.). Gomez had a career-high 33 points in the first game, then came back with a team-high 27 the following night. Gomez shot a blistering 79 percent (23 of 29) from the floor, including 7 of 10 from three-point range.

Corban University’s Katie Steigleman was named women's CCC Player of the Week.

No. 3 Oregon Tech will resume CCC action this weekend playing at College of Idaho on Friday, December 16th in Caldwell and at No. 23 Eastern Oregon Saturday, December 17th in La Grande.
