KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - No. 20 ranked Eastern Oregon University connected on 14 baskets from long range, including a 7-for-11 effort from Shaylee Nielsen, to take down Oregon Tech by an 85-68 final. 

 Oregon Tech is even at 8-8 on the season and 0-4 in Cascade Conference play.  The Mountaineers improve to 11-2 and 3-1 in the CCC.

Oregon Tech started strong taking a pair of seven point leads in the first half, the last with 13 minutes until intermission, 17-10.

EOU then mounted a comeback and eventually tied the contest at 24-24 with 8:26 on the clock.  The Mountaineers would close the half on a 14-7 run to take a 38-31 lead into the locker room.

EOU continued the momentum into the second stanza and after an 18-4 run went up by 21 points, their largest margin of the game, 56-35.

Oregon Tech did not go away and closed to within 10 points, 64-54, with 9:30 remaining to play.

EOU, however, would methodically pull away from the Owls over the next nine minutes and move on to an 85-68 win.

Morgan Hofman finished the evening with 18 points to lead the Owls on offense.  Aundrea Albright and Kiana Caban added 11 points each, while Brittany Cherry grabbed a game-high nine rebounds and Albright eight boards in the loss. 

Nielsen came away with a game-high 22 points, adding a free-throw make to her seven treys, to lead the Mountaineers to a win.  Kyle Miller followed with 17 points and six rebounds with Vintea Georges adding 13 points and five rebounds.
