(Portland, Ore.) – After scoring a career-high 30 points on Saturday, Oregon Tech's Bobby Hunter has been recognized as Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in basketball for the period ending Dec. 19, the CCC office announced Monday.
It is back-to-back CCC honors for the Hustlin’ Owls, as Kyle Gomez earned the award last week.
Hunter, a 5-8 freshman guard from Reno, Nev., averaged 22 points and 5.5 rebounds, as the third-ranked Hustlin’ Owls swept a pair of Cascade Conference road games over the weekend.
Hunter keyed a 13-2 run to open the second half scoring, when No. 3 ranked Oregon Tech stopped The College of Idaho, 68-59 on Friday. Hunter finished the game with 14 points and six boards. Hunter followed up Friday’s victory with a career-high 30 points as the Hustlin’ Owls improved to 14-1 on the season and 4-0 in the Cascade Conference with an 81-71 win over No. 22 Eastern Oregon University.
Oregon Tech will resume CCC action when the Owls host Warner Pacific College on Thursday, December 29th and Concordia University the following day.
