Tech’s Gomez Earns CCC Player of the Week Honors

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Oregon Tech’s Kyle Gomez received conference honors earning this week’s Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week in men’s basketball, announced Monday by the conference office.

Gomez, a 6-3 senior guard from Bly, Oregon registered a double-double on Friday night leading Oregon Tech over College of Idaho and followed that up with a game and career high 28 points in Tech’s 89-78 win over No. 8 Eastern Oregon University. Gomez scored 15 of his 28 points in the first half, including 6-7 from long distance.

No. 13 ranked Oregon Tech improved to 12-2 overall and took over sole possession of first place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (4-0).

Oregon Tech will hit the road next week playing at Corban University on Thursday, December 30 in Salem and at Northwest Christian University on Friday, December 31 in Eugene. Thursday’s game is scheduled for a 5:30 pm Tip-off with Friday’s New Year’s Eve game scheduled for a 3:30 pm start.
