Adams Earns Individual Title as Oregon Tech Opens up Cross Country Season
ARCATA, Calif. – The Oregon Tech men’s cross country team opened up the 2013 season at the Humboldt State Invitational with a second place team finish behind a strong performance from sophomore Paul Adams. The Owls women did not have all their competitors as Tech did not place as a team.

Paul Adams covered the 8K course in 25 minutes, 50 seconds to earn the individual title. Tech’s Kirby Garlitz placed 13th (26:46) and Jack Roberts 17th (27:02) in the race. Dakotah Webb and Connor Devereux placed 21st and 22nd respectively. Adams now ranks No. 6 on Oregon Tech's all-time list.
Host Humboldt State earned the team championship (25 points) with the Owls following in second place (64 points). Fresno Pacific, Southern Oregon and Simpson University rounded out the team competition.
Newcomer Samantha Lindauer led the Owl women with an 18th place finish (24:51) in a 5K race won by Humboldt’s Imogen Carson in 22:46.39. Kelly Coash had a top-20 finish for the Owls. Lindauer's time places her No. 17 on Oregon Tech's all-time list.
Oregon Tech will travel to Sacramento this Saturday to compete in the Hornet Invitational where the Owls should have their top returnees, including Scott Minor for the men and Ashley Baldovino on the women's side, competing for each team.
